So a lot has been going on. I will be doing a couple different posts. I'll start with 4th of July weekend.
Mike's birthday is July 1st and I had a series of surprises lined up for his day. I think I had more fun than he did! I wrote out this sentence and gave it to him in the morning. Each word had significant meaning. One of the words was fly (we were going to have chicken wings for dinner) and Mike asked if we were flying somewhere. After looking for cheap tickets anywhere and everywhere, I decided at about 5pm (with the help of my sister-in-law) that we would drive "12.5" hours to Illinois to visit previously mentioned sister-in-law, brother-in-law (Mike's brother) and our 2 sweet nieces for the weekend. And we would leave at 6pm.
And we did. We had a WONDERFUL weekend. It actually took about 14.5 hours to get there and 13 to get home. But it was worth it, and I'm sure we will make the trek again one day.

I like the new layout, wery creative.
love the new layout!
V- i have absolutely loved following your blog. these pictures are amazing. are they beautiful because of your a) artistic eye b)technical camera savvy c)photo editing enhancement capabilities ? the one of you nuzzling brooks should be framed :)
i have also loved reading about your joys of mommyhood, down to the diapering and food making. we've been making some similar decisions (we cloth part time and i'm making all of H's food). i'm curious where you've done your food learning - we've read Super Baby Foods, but i'd love another resource to give varying opinions and ideas. you seem to put together meals that offer little B a wide variety. i love it.
i just thought i'd let you know what joy i get from following along in your happy life. cheers!
