The AMAZING Pacific NW

Brace yourselves...
On Saturday, August 7th, Mike and I packed up the boys and headed to Seattle, WA. Here is what we did!

Saturday & Sunday we stayed with Mike's aunt Jan & uncle Tom. This was so fun because not only did we have a great visit with them, but also Mike's cousins Kate & her husband Emil, Alene & her husband Joe, and Chris & his girlfriend Morgan were there too! We had SO much fun with all of them. Sunday, Mike's parents, Jeanne & Henry and his sister Carrie & her husband Jhar came with their three kids. We had SO much fun!

Monday we left Jan & Tom's with Mike's parents and headed out to Pacific Beach, WA to meet up with my family. We stayed in old Navy housing that's been restored and it was fantastic. Tuesday all the guys and my sister Colleen and cousin Lindsey went Salmon fishing. I'm not a seafood eater, but we had fresh salmon and bass for dinner and it was amazing.

Wednesday we left Pacific Beach and headed N/NE. We went on a short hike through HOH Rainforest in Olympic National Park. Had lunch at Sully's in Forks, WA and then stayed the night on Lake Crescent. It was absolutely breath taking.

Thursday morning (my 29th birthday) we took the ferry to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. We went on a tour of Butchart Gardens and then had a picnic dinner from Pita Pit over looking the water. I'm not really sure what I was expecting Canada to look like, but it was beautiful.

Friday we went on a whale watching tour where we got to see 2+ pods of resident orcas (killer whales) hanging out together. Well, they were sleeping which ended up working out well for us because when they sleep they get in a tight group and go up and down up and down. Made for lots of viewing pleasure!

After the tour we had lunch at a sort of local street fair & then took the ferry back to Port Angeles where we visited with my mom's aunt Buzz briefly and headed south for our "mystery stop" and then dinner. The mystery stop ended up being a game preserve which was really neat. We saw Yaks, Peacocks, Deer, Buffalo, Coyotes, Lions, Tigers, & Bears! Oh My!!

Saturday was lots of hanging with family, a golf tournament, and BBQ.

We left Sunday. :(
